Adding a logo to your LinkedIn profile can help to make it look more visually appealing and complete.
It also helps to establish your personal brand or showcase your company's brand.
A logo can help to differentiate you from other professionals in your field and provides a visual cue to help people remember you. And besides, it's just nice to have a completed list of colourful logos on your LinkedIn profile and not grey squares! Follow these instructions on how to add a logo to your LinkedIn profile.

How to Add a Logo to Your LinkedIn Profile

To add a logo to your LinkedIn profile,  follow these steps:

  • Find yourself!
Log in to your LinkedIn account and go to your profile by clicking on the Me button top right hand corner.

  • Scootch down to your experience section
Click on the pen icon. This opens up the editing function of your experience section. If you don't have an experience section available to you because this is your first time, you need to add it. Go to the top of your profile, underneath your number of connections, select "Add Profile Section" and you can select it from here.
  • First thing you want to do is see if your employer is available as a logo.
Click on the plus sign and select Add Position.

  • Start typing the name of your employer in the company name field.
If they have a company page on LinkedIn their name should appear in the dropdown list. If that's the case, happy days! Just select it and save it and you're done!

If the company name does not appear in the dropdown list, here's what you need to do...

  • Create a LinkedIn Company Page
Here's how. This is just going to house your company logo. Just fill in the basics: company name, email and upload your logo. Logo size needs to be 300 x 300 pixels.
  • You don't need to worry about creating content for the company page, at least not until you have your profile action working well for you!
  • Now go back to your profile.
Follow the steps above. This time when you select your company name from the list, the logo of the page you just created will magically appear as an option! Well done! You've done it.
  • Company gone out of business?
If you worked for a company that no longer exists, and you were not the owner of it, then you don't have the right to create a company page for it, so unfortunately you won't be able to add a logo to your LinkedIn profile for this.

Let's get started

Let's get started
  1. Thank you for this, you have been most helpful. May I say what a lovely website you have. It is very bright, clean and, well, a nice place to be.
Have a great weekend, if you get one.

  2. You could also upload a logo in the “Click to add video, image, document” button

    1. Hey Joe, that adds a pic into the overall post, what I’m showing you is how to add one of the tidy little logos that sits neatly on the side of the listing.

  3. How can you add a little logo next to a company that doesn’t exist on Linked-in yet?

    1. If the company you are looking for doesn’t appear on the dropdown list, then it needs a company page. If it’s your company, you can create one in a couple of seconds. If you’re working for a company however, you need to request from them to add a logo. That is the only way (right now) that LinkedIn allows you to display company logos on your profile.

  4. Some companies have a logo on their homepage. Somehow the logo doesn’t show up as or after you type the company name. An example is Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad whose logo appears on its homepage: https://www.bsp.com.bn/. What to do in this case?
