Webby Awards 2008 – Vote Now
May 1, 2008 at 8:08 am
It’s that time of year again – the annual Webby Awards Peoples Choice Vote. Voting closes on Friday, so get on over, check the shortlists and give the worthy ones your vote. One of the unique features of the Webbys is that winners are selected by a panel of luminaries (the Academy) and also by the people. I always find it interesting to see where the groups diverge in their opinions. Now’s your chance to have your say.
There are just so many things to do! Between voting in the Webbys and taking part in the Open Coffee today at 11.05am, sure it will be lunchtime before we know it.

Hey Maryrose, hope the OpenCoffee event went well this morning. I’ve been saying to myself that I must go to one soon, see what all the buzz is about.
Just tried to register for the PV Webby’s but can’t get past the Captcha code. So frustrating. This is just another case of dumping the problem back in the user’s lap. There has to be a better way to stop spam.
Iarfhlaith, I just let Emily from the Webbys know about that.
Looks like they’re working on it now. The registration page has been taken down.
See that – it took 3 mins!! Now that’s what I call responsive.
That’s pretty impressive alright! Except it’s back up now and the problem doesn’t seem to have been solved.
Everytime I hit ‘Register’ I’m brought to a blank page. And I’m certain I got the captcha code right this time.
I think I’ll leave it for the moment though, I’m sure they’ll get to the bottom of it eventually. Or maybe it’s just me.
The question is – are you a human?
I often fail capcha tests too.
Great success! Managed to get past the dreaded captcha verification.
Phew, I feel so relieved now, safe in the knowledge that I am in fact flesh and blood.
I had a quick look at the Art category was very disappointed. Seems that timelines are ‘the go’ – very 1999/2000 And of course some navigations that I (intelligent being) can’t understand.
