The correction at the end of the NYT article is wonderful!
Semi colons are overrated. If it weren’t for cheeky emoticons we’d have gotten rid of them by now
Oh Niall – how could you say such a thing! Semi colons are great for people like me who have lots and lots to say, and need some way of managing the flow; using a semi colon also makes less confident English linguists a little nervous because they don’t know how to.
BTW meant to say hi at the Bloggies the other night, but you were giving it socks on the dancefloor. I didn’t want to mess with you Bon Jovi mojo!
