Exporting Video From Your Posterous
One of the problems I came across last week when I exported my Posterous content to WordPress, was that the videos didn’t work. Instead it posted a link back to Posterous where the video was hosted. Given my fear that Posterous is going to disappear, I needed to work out a solution to this.
Lovely Twitter had me talking to @Jangles and @Jas who shared my pain, and also a few links from others who had come across the same problem. In case you encounter issues exporting from Posterous to WordPress, I’m pasting them here:

What I’d like to share with you now is that the way I got my video down from Posterous is quite simple! All you need to do is:
- Login to Posterous
- Click the yellow backup button on top nav bar on the right

- Give it some time. It will download all files into neatly sorted folders including Video in .mov format which is good.
- Now all I’ve got to do is find a quick way to upload multiple movies to WordPress.
Good luck with your move. And don’t believe what you see on Posterous!
