Would You Walk In Noo Noo’s Shoes?

On Budget Day 2012?  That’s what Public Policy.ie is asking you to do.  A few short weeks ago, we pitched one of our favourite clients with the idea of creating an app that gets people to really think about the decisions facing the Minister this Budget day.

In keeping with Public Policy’s mission to disseminate information about public policy in Ireland that is not tied to a Government agenda, or without a wish to create hype a la the Media… The “Hit The Budget Target” tool forces you to cut €2.5 billion out of Government spending.

What’s it to be? Health?  Education?  Social Welfare?

It was interesting to work with the economist on this one (Cormac O’Sullivan) – we asked him to come up with a message that would appear whenever an action was taken, ie. if you cut spending on health.. there needed to be a message about the implications of that.  As a true economist Cormac was able to come up with a rational message/argument for every side!

We’ve seeded this out on Twitter, Facebook and using the group’s own mailing lists.  It’s getting good traction.  As of today (at high noon) visits to the site have just about exceeded the whole of November’s!

Go on and give it a try.

It’s not easy to walk in Noo Noo’s shoes.  I wouldn’t.  Not even if you gave me a massive pension!
